What Is Spiritual Healing?
November 7, 2008 by Akemi
So Yes to Me has a new tagline: Spiritual Healing and Growth for Greater Success. But what is spiritual healing anyway? This post explores the fundamental concepts of spiritual healing and its underlining premise, the soul. (Photo by Bemep)
Definition of spiritual healing
Here is my understanding:
Spiritual healing
- Healing of physical, mental, and emotional conditions and patterns by the power of spirituality or spirits.
This includes faith healing and energy healing. - Healing of the spirit, or the soul, of the client, which is the basis of the aforementioned healing. The soul is restored to its full potential, resulting in the optimal health of physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
This is an old and at the same time new field. Wikipedia doesn’t yet have “spiritual healing” and redirects searches to faith healing, which I think is only the subgroup of spiritual healing. Just as we can be spiritual but not religious (a growing group of population who do not affiliate with any organized religions but believe in the existence of higher power), healing can be spiritual but not faith-based.
I also like to think of spiritual healing in the bigger scope than the conventional healthcare – by that I mean you realize you have negative physical or mental conditions and try to get rid of them. No, spiritual healing is a lot more than that. People who are “healthy” can benefit from spiritual healing – our potential is a lot more than the passing grade level of “health”.
What is the spirit and the soul?
To understand spiritual healing, we need to think about the spirit and the soul. And this is right where most people get bogged down because most people identify themselves with their body and mind. Many people think they only have body and mind, and whatever that is not the physical body, they throw them into the category of mind. “Oh, it’s all in your mind.” Wrong.
You have soul. More accurately, the soul is the true you. Your soul came from the Divine Source, and on this planet Earth, it takes physical body to incarnate. The mental and emotional bodies (the mind) develop on the physical body. So we can say your body and mind are the manifestation of your soul.
It is only natural, then, that the wellbeing of your soul affects your physical, mental, and emotional health. By bringing your soul to its fullness, your physical and mental health can improve.
The word “spirit” has several meanings. Sometimes it means the soul. It also means entities or beings in the spiritual plane. They don’t have physical bodies, so most people don’t see them, but being invisible is no proof of their non-existence.
Everything we do and experience in life is our souls’ way of healing and growing
Even the negative symptoms we so hate are the soul’s signs to get your attention so that you can make appropriate adjustments to get back to its fullness. Sometimes you heal your soul by doing spiritual work such as meditation. Sometimes you heal your soul by interacting with certain people. And sometimes you heal your soul taking challenges and experiencing new things.
I have experienced spiritual healing myself and also have witnessed some spiritual healing in others. I consider my major healing to be the courage that has led me to start my own business (which I have discussed many times in this Yes to Me blog). This courage continues to grow within me. Another healing was my persistent shoulder pain.
I’m expanding the scope of this Yes to Me blog from entrepreneurship / personal development to the spiritual foundation of entrepreneurship and various other manifestations of success. I keep sharing my stories as a new entrepreneur and spiritual consultant, and I keep the doors wide open. Whether you are consciously doing spiritual work already or you are rather skeptical or afraid about spirituality, or if you just want to do some personal development to be successful, you are welcome.
What do you think about spirituality and spiritual healing? Are you skeptical, or afraid? Let me know by leaving your comments!

Among the types of healing connections that we can have with others and the world around us are physical and spiritual. Physical connections encompass all sympathetic vibrations including electromagnetic and etheric. Spiritual connections encompass the potential energies that precipitate sympathetic vibrations.
These potential energies are energy from the quantum vacuum on the physical plane and energy from hyperspace on the spiritual plane.
According to Kabbalist principles, among a few others, physical distance means nothing, while spiritual closeness means everything in hyperspace. We are all connected to each other through hyperspace.
Our physical bridge to hyperspace is through the higher guage symmetry of the chakra system, energy meridians, and “luo” channels, better known as the quantum microtubule network as described by Drs. Roger Penrose and Stewart Hameroff.
The conditioning of space through psychic intention is also an excellent subject in psychoenergetics offered by Dr. William Tiller, who provides suggestions in practical application.
Gary Craig and EFT therapists worldwide further prove our healing spiritual connections with each other by tapping into our bridge of higher gauge symmetry.
Remote viewers such as Gerald O’Donnell proved that people can be influenced through remote influencing – once again by tapping into higher gauge symmetry.
Tapping into higher gauge symmetry is the key to spiritual healing.
Akemi, I imagine that someone who is skeptical of spiritual healing would be someone who subscribes to a worldview with the five senses as their ultimate guide to evidence. If they can be shown that the five senses are inadequate to explain all there is to know, that is the first crack into a broader, more spiritual worldview that would have them encompass a wider purview of healing.
On the other hand, anyone who is afraid of spiritual healing would be someone who has been indoctrinated with beliefs that restrict their view of who or what can heal. If they can be shown that a wider, more enlightened set of beliefs can bring them and/or their loved ones wholesome benefits, especially in crisis situations, then I think they’d be more amenable to broader notions of spiritual healing.
I could be wrong, but you’re not likely to find anyone commenting here who is afraid and/or skeptical of spiritual healing. I hope I am.
Christopher
Let me add this: Do not believe anything simply because you’ve heard it. Do not believe anything simply because it’s spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe anything simply because it’s found written in your religious books. Do not believe anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they’ve been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
This, of course, includes spiritual healing.
Hi HealingMind,
I don’t understand quantum physics, but I know from experience that time for spirits is not linear one-way time as we know in this world. And EFT is great — it works so well.
Christopher,
I think you nailed it down.
I just finished Dr. Brian Weiss’ “Many Lives, Many Masters” He is a doctor and scientist, and was absolutely convinced to believe only what can be proven. I found it interesting that he denied what was going on right in front of his own eyes in the beginning just because he never heard about it in the scientific circle. That is not very scientific — to bend the observed fact by theory. Eventually, he accepted it, and I think the book is very illuminating.
Actually, all of us who have experienced paranormal phenomena already know what it feels like.
When you project your mind to another time, another place, far away. When you can see, feel, and understand things that are normally outside of conscious thought. When you affect that healing connection with others and derive a sense of euphoria, then you are utilising many connections including that of your higher gauge symmetry tapping into quantum reality.
Driving on the road does not require complete understanding of the workings of the car. It requires experience and awareness to keep safe and avoid the pitfalls.
The same is true of spiritual healing. It requires experience, an open mind, and an open heart. True, spiritual reality is non-linear, so we must first clear our minds of the linear to know all possibilities.
Akemi, I’m glad you had a chance to read Many Lives, Many Masters. It’s a great book, one of a dozen or so books that has radically transformed my view of the world (and I’ve read many hundreds). I, too, found it to be very illuminating.
Dr. Weiss’ initial scientific skepticism, although commendable to some extent, delayed not only his use of past-life regression therapy, but also his willingness to publish the results of his hypnotherapy with the subject of his book.
After reading his book, I’m not nearly as skeptical as I once was when I hear about novel forms of spiritual healing.
Christopher
HealingMind,
I like your analogy of driving and making progress in any thing, including spiritual healing. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
Christopher,
I’m writing my review of that book because it is such a great book, published many years ago, and yet I think it’s been buried and not coming to the attention of those who can benefit so much form it. And it raises such profound questions about the purpose of life.
“Even the negative symptoms we so hate are the soul’s signs to get your attention so that you can make appropriate adjustments to get back to its fullness.”
So true! Whenever someone around me has an ailment, I refer to Louise Hay’s ‘You can heal your life’ to see what the emotional state which is at the root of it. However, my family especially (and some of my friends) are not accepting of the idea that the body is a reflection of the state of their energy and soul.
Hi Akemi, it’s nice that you brought up the book “Many Lives; Many Masters”. I read it like 15+ years ago. I was not spiritually aware back then but the book was a real eye opener for me. Now years later, I am actually having past life memories myself, which validated many of his findings.
Anna,
Yeah, the switch of the perspective is tough for many people. We are so caught up in our physical bodies.
Evelyn,
Great! It’s really a good book.
Open mind. God Allah Buddha, in english the first three notes of the scale, or 8 9 10, could be 7 8 9. Christians put this into language, as a under unifying code (see the pun? cde 345, 8 9 10, gab in music, scale cdefgabc, Western music, think Jesus Christ 10 5 19 21 19, in C major e e e flat, f e flat) I had a dream of allah singing those notes in f g f# a, yet different numbers, more subtle… there is a unifying language under all spoken word, in numbers, please our dreams our important, people have beliefs and one truly does give.
Here are supernatural phenomena perhaps miracles not recognized by the church: resurrection of a fly, moth, healing of bees, bumble bee, create of food, apple, grain cereal, rosemary, disappearance and reappearance of paper notes, disappearance of antipsychotic medication for patient in mental hospital, healing of heel, car sounds, seaweed harvest, sunshine on Dec. 12, 2007, control of light, prevention of storm, disappearing fish who was ill in fish tank, creation of water styrofoam cup in mental hospital, fruit basket.
If quantum mechanics is real, how is this possible, some people deny these facts, or don’t believe in them, are they from other quantum universes, so that two people may exist in different universes at same time, unite, then depart and then unite? Or are they confused, and believe in religion or something?
Why do so few people contact me about this, as if no one were interested at all Please talk!!
I think it’s wonderful that you’re taking a more spiritual approach to things here. It’s great that people are finally talking about spirituality and healing and how it all ties in to the soul. I’ve been following Dr. Zha and his using his Soul Power Series for awhile now. He’s got a new book coming out soon, The Power of Soul, and I can’t wait to read it. I’m just glad that it’s looking like I”ll have some people to talk about it with.
