Starseeds: Nihals (Indigos)

Nihals and indigo children

Nihal is in the constellation of Lepus and is sometimes called Beta Leporis. Not much is known about how Nihals lived in their home planet because Nihals are new on the Earth plane. Adult Nihals are quite rare. More and more Nihals are incarnating in the last twenty years or so, and they are often called indigo children.

The term “indigo children” was coined in the 1970’s by Nancy Ann Tappe. The definition, however, is ambiguous. For Nacy Tappe, who has a brain condition called synesthesia, the indigos have indigo (dark blue) life color. Life color is not the same as aura according to her explanation in the book The Indigo Children Ten Years Later: What’s Happening with the Indigo Teenagers!. Synesthesia is a condition that causes the brain to mix up perceptions. So those with synesthesia see or hear a smell or smell a touch. Some people think this is a brain disorder and some think it is a new highly developed way a brain can work.

Because most people don’t see life colors as she does, the term indigo became confusing. Some people think indigos have indigo auras. Again, because most people don’t see auras, this is still confusing.

My understanding is that indigos are highly psychic souls that are incarnating at this time to assist the humanity to evolve further. The indigo color is symbolic because it is a color of the sixth chakra, or the third eye. The third eye helps us see the truth our physical eyes cannot see. And because of this, those with open third eye tend to be direct in expressing the truth they see. They are innovators and frontier warriors who pave the way for those who come afterwards. Worldly conformity and compromise have no value to third eye vision.

Again, I see these indigos are coming from Nihals. I am not sure if all indigos are Nihals and all Nihals are indigos, but I see strong correlation.

Nihals’ ideal

Nihals value individuality and have strong self-esteem. At the same time, Nihals are deeply committed to the betterment of this world. These traits are quite obvious even when they are physically young. Parents and caregivers of Nihals need to treat them with respect as small adults. Don’t attempt to control them by fear, guilt, and shame based tactics — Nihals can see through these tactics.

In The Indigo Children Ten Years Later, there is a story contributed by Jennifer M. Townsley, Ed.D. about the first graders she met in an art class. She asked them, “What are you here to do?”, they responded with answers such as:

  • To do good in our world
  • Learn all I can learn before I leave
  • Make a difference
  • Make friends
  • Help people
  • Have fun

Notice how mature their understanding of life is. She describes how happy and excited these children were producing these answers, smiling and laughing.

Then she continues to describe what happened when their teacher, thinking they lost focus, asked them, “Class, what are you here to do at school?” The same children lost their enthusiasm and she could feel their disappointment. The teacher proceeded to help the children make answers such as:

  • Do spelling
  • Listen
  • Don’t talk
  • Sit and listen

Indigos (Nihals) don’t respond well to this kind of constricting approach. While the exact ideal Nihals are here for remains to be a mystery, I think the answers these children provided show the vision of their ideal world.

Nihals’ gifts

Nihals are highly psychic. They can see the fears adults try to hide. This often put them in difficult situation. Many Nihals grow up quite disappointed about the existing world. Still, this is a blessed gift Nihals have for themselves and for this world.

I also want to mention the special health challenges Nihals have. When Nihals decided to come to Earth, they first sent some forerunners to incarnate before their mass incarnation. These early Nihals, now well into adulthood, find it extremely hard to live in a physical body. They often have confusing chronic health issues. This kind of health issue is probably better treated energetically than with medication.

Nihals incarnating in a more recent years don’t seem to have this problem. However, many indigos are diagnosed for ADHD. As a non-healthcare professional, I’m a little confused about the ADHD diagnosis and treatment — I hope they are not treating Nihals just because they are different.

Nihals’ challenges in loving relationships

As explained earlier, Nihals are deeply caring but their ignorance or naivete of social rules make their social life challenging. This is not necessarily a bad thing, however. Nihals present a new way to relate to others, free of social stigma and based solely on individual’s uniqueness.

Because adult Nihals are rare, I simply don’t have much to say about their romantic relationship.

Nihals’ challenges in career and finance

Nihals often have problem with authority. They can see the lies of authority and refuse to bow to authority just because it is the way of this society. As a result, working in the corporate world for the boss is very difficult for Nihals. Their unconventional way of thinking and living also make it difficult for them to fit in. I think Nihals are best to start a business of their own.

Nihals are here to destroy what is not working so that we can build something new. This is not limited to their work life, but because our work is such a large part of our life, it would be best both for Nihals and for us in general if Nihals take the courage to be on their own, challenging the old system.

Nihals’ role on Earth

As more and more Nihals incarnate, they are changing the way we live and relate to one another. The old social system that separate us by criteria such as age, gender, and social status must go. This destruction phase come with pain, but it is a necessary process in creating the New World.

I am excited to watch how the young Nihals grow up to change this world.  (Photo credit)

Very interesting. I have never heard of the Nihals before, so I enjoyed reading this. It seems very similar to what I have read about indigos previously, and it also seems to fit well with other apparent incarnate races at this time. Probably a lot of the more advanced races have a lot of similar features, like heightened intuition etc.. Anyways, thanks for sharing. I enjoy Your blog!

I’m was SO glad to read what you wrote about children with ADHD! I have been thinking about the concept of ADHD lately and I’m starting to see it as being another case of looking at “different” as “deviant”. I have been blessed with an abundance of energy and I can relate to being made to sit still while bubbling over with an energy burst. It’s almost impossible to control and if I do succeed it feels like I am being tortured!! Energy is an amazing thing to have!! It’s something that most people say that they wish they had more of, but at the same time they down people who have lots of it. Energy is what gets the work done in this world!!

I don’t think that we need to curb their energy (or suck it out of them with pharmaceuticals). I think we need to understand that they have extra energy and need to function differently (not deviantly). Also, if we can teach them to harness that energy they can be the greatest asset to our world!

    Espen,

Welcome, and thank you for your kind words about my blog. I appreciate it.

    Jen,

I don’t quite understand ADHD. What is the basis of diagnosis? Surely there is more to behavioral difference, I think?
I think you are quite right about difference vs deviance.

So glad you wrote on this topic. I have read a lot about Indigo/Crystal/Rainbow children but had never heard it associated with a starseed. I am wondering if there are separate starseeds associated with Crystal and Rainbow children?

The ADHD thing is a touchy issue for me, unfortunately I do think that diagnosis has been misused alot, to ‘tame’ some very high-energy children.

The whole Indigo thing is confusing because so many different people have co-opted it. When I read different descriptions sometimes they do not even seem to correlate to each other, and then other people say 80% of children incarnating today are Indigos, which also doesn’t seem to make much sense, because then how would anyone perceive them as ‘different’? And many of the traits associated with them – intuitiveness, etc. – are traits that I think of every human being as having, and that all human beings are awakening to in greater numbers, and so I think of that as a general shift in humanity, not a sign of a different kind of child. So I just don’t know.

Obviously, with three young children, I am very interested in this. But to me, starseeds make a lot more sense, because there is a lot more room for individual variation….

    Lisa,

As I mentioned in the article, the definition of indigos is very vague. And yes, in that book, they say 90 or 95% of today’s children are indigos, which, as you point out, doesn’t make sense because if there are so many, the indigos shouldn’t stand out at all. Perhaps non-indigos should stand out.

As for crystals and rainbows, are there even definitions? Crystal white is the color of the seventh (crown) chakra, so if the color (of the aura or whatever) is any indication, crystals are less of the warriors (indigos, the third eye, is the color of Divine Defender). Does rainbow mean all colors of the chakra? So they are super balanced, like those Ascension souls are heading to?

I remember your post about so many kids getting medicated — so they behave and clean up their room! Just like the anecdote in the book, it’s the adults who are stupid and need guidance, I think.

Wow! Thank you for this. I guess I am one of those “rare” adults (being in my 40s). I’ve tried searching in the past for information about Nihal, but never found any. I would LOVE to “make a difference” in this world. As for health issues…I’m hypothyroid, but otherwise in relatively good health. I definitely value individuality (always been an independent one!), but strong self-esteem? I’m working on that one! ;) And yes, I work in the corporate world, which is challenging, but I’m also working on developing my own freelance business!

Thank you so much for this article! I’m glad to finally see something about Nihal!

  7. Mokihana on February 18th, 2010 11:42 am

I have waited for your post about Nihal. I am one of the elders, now into my 6th decade here and I am here to tell you Earth is hard on us. Chronic physical illness best treated energetically has been my healing of choice. When you and I did my Akashic Reading less than two years ago, the information you provided was god-sent, offering the perspective that I lose from simply being worn down.

My very early years were “weird” and my parents tried to figure me out. Fortunately, I was given an exceptional first teacher … literally, my kindergarten teacher was a teacher of the first order. She fed me candied Chinese sweet-meats on the Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year), taught me to love words, taught me to read and most importantly she read my light.

The issue of ADHD is most definitely a form of control –based on children’s unadapted connection with truth and light, it is dangerous for the consuming societal norms to hear and see truth based on a child’s view. My earlier ‘job’ at age 27 was a teacher and creator of America’s “Head Start and Home Base” programs for early childhood development and parent education. There were no rules yet for designing nurturing programs in the field … so a small group of women made those rules up. Most of them still work; some have been modified.

Chemicals, drugs are rarely a ‘cure’ for ADHD. Perhaps for a very short duration, and with carefully and holistically designed situations, it helps. The issue of adapting the children with broad vision is one that NIHAL and Indigo like me view with passion. So many things stir our passion, and yes authorities don’t make much sense to us.

Earth School is difficult, and I have looked to the ancient star wisdoms to tether my soul when it would really like to ‘beam up.’

    Glad to read this Akemi!

    Fascinating Akemi!

I just love learning about all these new starseeds and soul groups, etc. And I have been fascinated by “indigo” children for a while now, especially getting to know the concept and than while I was still teaching, I saw in a few kids something that clearly stood out. Some of these kids were psychic and saw the world so differently, and yet they did not fit into a school system and so were known as the “slackers” or “trouble makers”.

To me it just seems that this is what we do to not just kids but adults too, if they don’t meet our definition of “normal”. We call them names or judge them as even “crazy” or so……

I think there is a direct relationship too in the high rates of autism to these special kids. I think they are keeping out the physical world in the “normal” sense of the world to not be influenced and brainwashed by the way society has made it out to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if these children were just waiting for the “right” time to show their “true colors” and all the beauty they possess :)

Akemi, how do you define strong self-esteem ??

  12. Akemi on March 8th, 2010 9:42 am

    Nish,
Good point. I might as well say Ninals have strong, clear sense of self even as a child.
    Does this explain better?

  13. andrewgubb on March 13th, 2010 2:43 pm

    Hi Akemi,

I understand indigo as a stage of soul evolution in which the third eye chakra predominates. (We start from the root and we work up). This awareness makes them

Compulsively authentic (don’t play the social masks game)

System-breakers and rule breakers and anti-authority (because they look for what is real and has real value)

    Highly sensitive

    and so on.

Crystals are the stage after indigos and have a nature which understands without anyone telling them the oneness of all things.

I don’t know about definitions but there’s a “feel”… well, an energy which helps us identify each other. When we’re together it’s like we can finally let our hair down, with non-indigos we generally never feel 100% understood. We can’t act like we’re part of normal society, rituals and masks and meaningless things are stressful and stupid to us, if we have to play that game to be accepted we get unhappy.

From your feel I think you are probably crystal though I am not sure.

I’m indigo and crystal; my soul is transitioning between the two.

Interestingly, of the three indigos I know who have had soul realignment readings, they were all blueprinters (I include myself in that three).

It could be that the souls from Nihal are all indigos. All indigos come from other planets or dimensions, as the souls that originated on Earth haven’t reached that level yet.

Oh, also I’ve seen indigos of all ages, maybe most around my age (20) but plenty of 30, 40, 50 years olds too……. I don’t see any special pattern in the ages.

I feel there is a LOT of bad info about indigos out there. 80% or 100% of children after X year? No way.

    Love :D

  14. Akemi on March 13th, 2010 4:12 pm

    Andrew,

I agree with you partly and disagree in other parts. Most of the disagreement comes from the blurry nature of the definition of the indigos.
I don’t see indigos as the developmental stage of all souls. There are indeed group of souls that are born with specifically strong third eye energy, no developmental efforts involved. That is what I call indigo. This doesn’t mean other sou groups are no good. Each of us bring something valuable, but indigos are new and different.

Same issue with crystals. There are certain souls with crystal energy, and to me, that is the true crystals.

But again, most people cannot tell the difference so they misuse the terms all the time. If they are the majority in number, “wrong” definition can win. Like calling year 2000 the beginning of the millennium. Losing in number has nothing to do with truth, anyway, however.

Hi. I am an Indigo adult. I have been experiencing the chronic health concerns you speak of and have yet to find a way to achieve the much sought-after well-being that has been elusive for so many years now. I have really become uncomfortable with my physical body. How may I obtain or accomplish the energetic healing that would possible restore health and balance to my organism/ system? Also, at this point, I am not certain what my origin as a starseed is. Is there a way to tell if one is a Nihal? Thank you very much.

  17. Maria Celeste on May 6th, 2010 4:53 am

Hi again, Akemi. I have just read through a lot from both your websites and also Andrew’s comment and your reply to his comment.

I know that I was led to your websites for a reason as there are really no accidents in the greater scheme of things. I do however, after having gone through relevant material from your written work find that I have gathered all I need from here for now and know what I need to do. You need not answer my question about the energetic healing I was inquiring about, as well as my starseed origin. Thank you very much, nevertheless.

Regarding what Andrew has said, he is speaking the Truth. The terms “Indigo and Crystal” apply to the level of spiritual development and frequency of the individual in question. The color perceived for the said groups, whether perceived via synesthesia or something else, do have an analogy to the actual Truth behind the essence of Indigos and Crystalline children and adults. This is not an opinion. It is Truth. However, anyone who would be encountering this comment of mine should only retain what resonates with them here, in that if this connects to a deeper part of you to be true, then this is a validation of your inner knowing, however, if you feel that it does not resonate with your truth, please hold on to what you can understand and perceive to apply to your current view.

A lot of things being described about concepts using New Age terminology are put forth using various styles and with varying degrees of depth depending on the perceptions dominant and capabilities available to the one or the group speaking or putting forth the idea. A lot of the essence of the things being described face the risk of being possibly concealed and thereby inaccessible because of mere semantics. Most of the time, these different descriptions mean the same exact thing seen from different perspectives. The few ones missing the Truth altogether in their descriptions are either the misguided but non-malicious ones, or the malicious, negative ones purposefully concealing and distorting the Truth. The important thing is the Truth behind each description and the motive, driving force or reason behind the delivery of the message. Truth is beyond any point of view. It isn’t affected by your opinion or any one else’s. You need to understand that there are as many systems, such as in linguistics or academics or religion for example, as necessary for the many different individuals on different levels of spiritual development to be able to relate to in order to be assisted in connecting with the Absolute Truth. In essence the Truth is encoded in each one’s zeropoint or otherwise known as the heart. Respect for people and the different methods people use in order to rise to a higher level of development is of utmost importance. Refrain from unnecessarily judging anyone. Intuition will be one’s protection from those maliciously distorting the Truth and from those ignorant as yet to understand that Truth is not a commodity either, to be used to take advantage of people who may be made to erroneously believe that it is a commodity. Take care to concentrate on your personal level of development consistently.

As an Indigo, I must firmly insist that this is the day and age where empowerment of every soul is called for and worked at vigilantly. Inner Guidance for each and every one is what is called for at this point in time, and not dependence on any outside leader or guru. We must not take advantage of anyone. It is a violation to the Source. It is in violation to the Truth that can be found at zeropoint.

With this, I spread Unconditional Love, Light, Peace, Joy, Prosperity, Serenity, Beauty, Balance, Health and Well Being, Truth and Divinity for All To Share.

Protection Belongs To Those Who Do Act In Accordance With The Divine Will Of The Source.

    Namaste.

  18. andrewgubb on May 6th, 2010 5:27 am

It’s nice to feel a bit validated on this. :)

I remain open to new perspectives but I will say that all of the people I know who have felt a strong resonance with the indigo or crystal definitions do feel like they are part of the next stage of human evolution. For me that’s a telling thing, but of course whether or not it is for someone else depends on whether they can trust the perception and good intent of these people. I know I can, because they are my closest friends… but not everyone has such a perspective.

By the way Akemi, if you’re interested Rei Williams who now has a website http://www.intuitiverei.com/ identifies as crystal and considers her soul to be Pleiadian. She has access to the akashic records too. You could have some interesting conversations with her.

    Love

DIANA, I just read what you said and it sounded identical to myself. I am an indigo born in 1971 and I lived in an ashram in northern california and I was blessed to live and meet tons of other indigos/lightworkers. We would all go down to the yuba river every day,get high from staring at the turquois waters flowing, pet wild lizards and snakes, eat gold, and feel so much love for this beautiful planet. I also met amma the hugging saint and she told me to get a job so I listened to her and now I am living in los angeles missing the ashram days.
