Starseeds: Mintakans (Orion)
January 12, 2010 by Akemi

Here is a new post on starseeds. A note to new readers — if you find this too New Age, don’t worry, I will be posting more practical, inspirational posts, too. If, on the other hand, you find this intriguing, please check the linked article for the overview of starseeds. (Photo credit)
Mintakans come from the star system of Mintaka, located in the constellation of Orion in its belt. Many Mintakans intuitively look to the Orion because of this. Their home star had multiple suns, so it was always bright and warm. It was a beautiful star of water, where the water was so clear that you could see miles away through it. I have the feeling they were living in the water like dolphins. I know there are many people who feel close to dolphins, and I wonder if they are Mintakans — I don’t know until I read their Akashic Records. I do know, however, Mintakans are large group among the starseeds.
Mintakans’ ideal
Mintakans see the world with their optimistic and idealistic eyes. Even when the going gets tough, Mintakans don’t stay distressed too long. Soon, they start thinking, “Okay, what can I learn from this?” rather than carrying their anger or sorrow. They always see the glass half full. This is wonderful — the world benefits from Mintakans’ positive attitude.
I don’t know, however, if Mintakans have a common ideal or vision they are working on as a group. To me, they seem to be just moving forward with their cheerleader-like attitude without the clear vision of where they are going.
On the personal level, Mintakans do have a common dream. I call it the Mintakan dream of working from home. Mintakans love their home. This is because their home star is no longer inhabitable and they cannot go home. Mintakans feel this loss on the deep level and have this unexplainable “homesickness” even when they are right at their earthly home. Many Mintakans become nesters, decorating their home beautifully, to ease this strange longing of true home. And they love staying at their beautiful home. To the point they want to work from there.
Mintakans’ gifts
The best gift Mintakans bring to this world is their never-ending cheerfulness and positivity. Mintakans are willing to see the good in everyone, and give second, or third, or fourth chance to others. Mintakans are friendly and happy to help others. My advice to Mintakans is to keep the positive cheer while paying due attention to whom they are giving energy to. (Remember the discussion of darkworkers?)
Another unique gift Mintakans have is the non-linear way they approach to life. Most of us are linear in our thinking — we tend to think one thing happens after another, and another, in a linear manner. So we approach life in a linear way, doing one thing, completing it before we start another.
Not with Mintakans. Mintakans do one thing, and before they complete it, move on to another, and then to the third, come back to the second project . . . and it all makes sense in them. Mintakans typically have many hobbies and totally enjoy dipping their hands in many things. This is how Mintakans are developing spiritually.
We can learn this approach from Mintakans. At the same time, Mintakans might want to show some consistency in their way of doing things when other people are involved because they have a hard time understanding what is going on. (“Where are we going for vacation? I thought you wanted to go to Hawaii. Now you want to go to Disneyland? I’m okay either way, but . . .”)
Oh, speaking of vacation, being close to very clear water is deeply nurturing for Mintakans because it reminds them of their home star. They might even want to live near the clear water.
Mintakans’ challenges in loving relationships
Mintakans are happy chatty type and easy to get along. It doesn’t take long to get to know Mintakans. In fact, I’m surprised how open and outspoken some Mintakans are. These are the ones who start telling me their love and sex life within ten minutes of the phone session. Mintakans talk (or even write) with lots of “!!!”
So Mintakans have many friends. But what about romantic relationship? I think the key challenge in Mintakan romance is to find a quality date — which is a challenge indeed when they have so many friends and constantly distracted with so many interests. As I review my clients file, I see some are happily married, some dating on and off, and some single. I honestly don’t see particular pattern here.
Mintakans’ challenges in career and finance
Again, Mintakan dream is to work from home, which often means starting their own business. (Hope they enjoy my eBook on self-employment.) This yearning seems to get only stronger as they get older.
Finance — I’m not so sure if Mintakans care about financial management. I’m not saying they cannot do it. Some of my clients are in management positions and I guess they are good at what they do, including managing money. Deep down, however, I have the feeling Mintakans enjoy spending big time.
Mintakans’ role on Earth
Mintakans have a wonderful way of lightening up people, and this world. They are well aligned with Divine Light. I guess Mintakans are great networkers among Lightworkers, supporting Ascension is a grass-root manner.

I can identify with a lot of what you have written here. I have many obsessions on the go at the same time, I start full of enthusiasm, lose interest then come back to it at a later date.
I have always felt a strong fascination with orion’s belt and have often found myself thinking that it holds the key to a lot of unanswered questions!!
Lastly, I have always looked upon my home as a safe haven from the world and as I get older I am having strong urges to find a job where I can work from home.
I wonder if this is my starseed. Will I ever know for sure?
Mintakans talk (or even write) with lots of “!!!” This is a great statement, and so true! At least where I am conscerned
You are right on with these personality traits. I am so thankful I came to you for an Akashic Record Reading, because although I’ve learned to accept these personality traits about myself, it feels good to know the reason ‘why’ I do, and am attracted to, certain things. Thank you Akemi!
David and Andy,
Well, why not order my Akashic Record Reading? Then I can tell you your soul’s origin, and a lot more about your soul, your challenges, their meanings, etc.
Kim,
Thank you for confirming my observation. It’s good to know I’m right on track! (No, I’m not a Mintakan, but I can still use !, right?)
Thank you akemi, everything you write sounds/feels so right, ever since i was a little girl, I have looked up into the sky longing to go home, especially when times had been tough ( not suicidal thoughts by the way) the clear water (murky water makes me feel unease if not sickly) I dream of having clear water running, as the earth dosn’t provide what a mintaken had, I love water falls clear streams, carribean type ocean waters..the home is my peace on earth havern (well i try) and talk..I have been told I do go on and on…but at the same time I will keep talking until I find a level of understanding with the recipitent…I surpose that comes with the diversity of our nature…as for the saddness yes it runs deep..what triggers it now is the distructive nature of some humans wether to the earth or each other..another trait of our characteristics is we will defend the ant that crosses the road..and then turn around and defend the road..if u know what I mean..I can forgive 10 times over as in my heart there’s nothing to forgive..bless it be! (Mintaken) Kim
Akemi, this was really fascinating. I live near the ocean where there are a fair number of surfers, and I feel like many of them fit this description! Not to stereotype too much, but they are generally very upbeat and easygoing, and very open, and many seem to have offbeat careers, or are entrepeneurial, partly so they can make time to surf. And one even told me once that he thought he had been a dolphin in a past life, so maybe he was actually ‘remembering’ Orion…it’s also interesting, because this seems like such a different starseed than my own…when it is described this way, it’s so clear there are so many different soul types…

Kim,
Thank you for your sharing. And yes, Mintakans have strange fear about dark or murky water. The same clean water body could be scary at night for them.
Lisa,
You are right! I didn’t think about it before, but I can see many Mintakans naturally gravitating to live near the ocean and becoming the stereotypical friendly, open, surfer type.
Hi Akemi,
I’ve been waiting for some more Mintakan info on the web. Nice description. Before I knew I was a Mintakan I knew this one truth about myself…The Gulf of Mexico is my favorite body of water, because it’s clear and bathtub warm. The other thing that struck me when I first found out about the Mintakan soul characteristics is that we often feel homesick. I can remember spending time with friends as a child, and suddenly being struck with an overwhelming feeling that I had to go home, but not to my home with my family. Now I understand that the home I was looking for was Mintaka.
Thanks again for your write up.

Akemi, thank you so much for this. I feel like I’ve been understood before I could understand myself. I also resonate to this. Loving the clear water, I have always lived near the ocean. I have a fear of the deep dark depths of any body of water. If I can’t see, well, there’s fearful stuff lurking! I’ve spent all my adult years moving around, never feeling “home” and this is why. You’ve confirmed my recent instinct to just stay put when the urge to move came up. I’m going to make this place I’m in now into my nest. And yes, I long to work from home, too. This is interesting.

Cassandra and Sue,
Thank you for your confirming comments. Very interesting to hear directly from Mintakans.
Hiya! I’m late to the party but thought I’d add my 2 cents.
I have almost always lived around the Great Lakes, and I always knew that I couldn’t live too far away from them — unless perhaps it was by an ocean. My favorite sight is to drive along Lakeshore Drive in Chicago and drink in the view of the lakefront. It’s a thrill every time I see it. (No, I don’t live there, but I drive through often on my way from one Great Lakes State to another.) I’m not as afraid of dark water as most Mintakans seem to be (unless it’s a swamp that we’re talking about), but even so, I never go out of my way to see it.
It’s also true that I’m always cheering people on, convinced that they really can do that great project they’re thinking about embarking on. I once even found myself encouraging a project manager that I was working for even though I loathed him! I just can’t seem to help myself! (Oh, look, I’m using exclamation points.) I’ve also found myself cheering on some real losers, and finally having to admit that with some people, there doesn’t seem to be anything you can do. No amount of encouragement, advice, helpful tips or examples is going to move them out of the morass they’re in.
Apart from occasional visits to see blue water, I most prefer to spend my free time in my home. I’ve even spent entire vacations just puttering around on one project or another. Yes, I, too, jump from project to project, leaving one in the middle to start another one, and yet I always know that I’ll be getting back to each one when my interest for it returns. I just cannot pursue something solely for the sake of being able to say I’ve finished it if I don’t have any enthusiasm for it.
I remember feeling homesick even as a child, and wondering how come I felt this way even though I was in my home. Until I found out I was a Mintakan, I just sort of accepted this feeling as part of the human condition. Now I know why, and also why I used to stare at Orion a lot when I was little. Even now, I always look for it when I step out on a clear night when the stars are out. It’s the only thing in the night sky I ever want to see.

Grapeshot,
Interesting! Thank you for your feedback.
I think I am a Mintakan, based on your description. How can one tell for sure?
