No More Life Lessons In The School Of Life

February 2, 2009 by Akemi

freedom - no more life lessons

With the recent realization of what life is like once you reach a certain point of your spiritual development, I’d like to amend my article on life purpose.

As I explained in the aforementioned post, once you reach this point of spiritual growth, you are in a whole different ball game.  Using the same analogy I used in that article, you are now sailing on the big wild ocean, fast and free.  The rules and principles that applied to you while you were pushing your boat on the beach simply do not work any longer.  The concept of life lessons is one of them.

At this point, this post is relevant to only a handful of people.  Like the post on soul shifting, please feel free to skip if it doesn’t appeal to you.  I’m writing this for these very special individuals and the people who are heading this way soon.  (Photo by Vardhana)

Life as school to learn our life lessons

Previously, we were to learn a set of life lessons through various life experiences.  We chose these life lessons ourselves prior to incarnation, so it wasn’t like someone was pushing their agenda to us.  Yet the learning was often challenging.  Many of us inadvertently chose negative learning experiences and progressed ever so slowly.    Life was just like a school.

I remember how it was because it wasn’t so long ago I worked hard on this whole life lesson thing.  I was so fervent – nothing was more important for me than learning and completing my life lessons.  The way I saw it – and still do for those who are at this stage of development – is that, if I fail to learn my life lessons in this lifetime, I would have to come back to work on them again, like repeating the same grade in a school.  That surely sucks.  So do whatever to learn them.

My primary life lesson was integration.  I had learned much in my many past lives, and in this life as well, and I was to put everything in coherent context.  Like “Spiritual Healing and Growth for Greater Success”, connecting spirituality and worldly success that many people see as completely separate and even incompatible.  I was to bring the value of unification.  (I don’t know why my spirit guides used this business-like word “unification” rather than more nicey words like “accord” or “harmony”, but that is what they said.)  If you check my posts in December to early January, you can see this learning trend and my passion.

And then it happened. I still don’t know exactly how it happened – evidently I completed my life lessons and reached a point of my spiritual growth, plus there was a grace of the higher “tide”, the planetary change that is benefiting quite a few of us.  I got a new soul.

What it is like once you reach this point of spiritual development

Again, it is a completely different game after this point of spiritual growth.  By now, I have read the Akashic Records of eight individuals who have had this shift, and all confirm the same pattern.  And one of the characteristic of it is that there are no more life lessons.

We have completed the life lessons and graduated from the school of life.  From here, we are completely free and our life purpose is simply to be who we are. No pre-determined life lessons.  Life is not a school any more, but more like a playground.

Since there is no more learning needs, there is no point in trying.  Many people talk about the importance of doing rather than trying, but they only try really hard not to try.  Too complicated.  Once the life lessons drop, however, there is indeed no trying.  We just are.  And we do whatever comes to us naturally and joyously, and this is how we grow even further spiritually.

If you think that kind of “selfish” acts would bring all kinds of havocs and disorders to this world, you are not at the level of spiritual development I am talking about.  It’s okay, take your time.

Another notable characteristic after the shift is there is no more need for healing.  All the new souls I’ve observed are brand-new souls with no past, so there are no energetic blocks and restrictions from the past.  So no need for healing.  All you do is to keep it clean.  Stay away from negativity.  You are not interested in it anyway.

Let me summarize what the new game is like:

  • No “learning” of life lessons
  • No seeking
  • No trying
  • No healing, fixing, repairing of the past
  • Just be.  Do what delights you and manifest spontaneously.

A few suggestions for those who reached this point of spiritual development

You are probably feeling a significant internal change.  The sudden loss (or more like an evaporation) of your sense of direction, which was so clear and strong before, may feel awkward.  You may also find it difficult to relate to many of your former interests and your friends you were connected through these interests.  Because you are not in the learning of your former life lessons any longer.

My advice is to take it easy.  You are perfectly okay.  And:

  1. Feel free NOT to read the kind of books and blogs that don’t hold your interest.  Most personal development books are written for those who are pushing their boat on the beach and so they are not for you any longer.
  2. Purge unnecessary stuffs (like those books) from your living environment and simplify your life.
  3. Same with interpersonal relationships.  You don’t have to actively break your existing relationships – when you just let things go, only the relationships that are still relevant to the new you will stay and others will fall off on their own.
  4. Keep moving forward in your spiritual development.  But know that the way you move forward from here on will be very different from the way you have been “working on” it.  From here on, it’s truly about being.  Enjoy your being.  Be confident in putting your unique wonderful self first.

A few suggestions for those who are not there yet

Don’t despair.  This is not exactly a race.  You are evolving in your own way at your own pace.  And some people are paving your way – nice and kind, right?

Having said this, may I suggest:

  1. Have some quiet time alone.  Daily.  This helps you to focus your energy on yourself rather than continuously comparing yourself to others.  Meditation, in the big sense, is a good idea.
  2. Learn to be honest to yourself.  Don’t second guess and resist change when you know deep inside you want it.  Whatever that change may be.
  3. Do work on your life lessons.  This is about achieving the energetic quality within you.  It’s more about internal work than external work of doing although some doing is perhaps helpful to recognize who you are on the inside.
  4. Whatever you do, don’t pretend that you are already “there”.  This is not about “psyching up”.  It has little to do with the thinking mind anyway.

Some commented they are afraid of this soul shift.  There is really nothing to be afraid about it (as long as the first soul moves on properly and the shift is complete.  I have to report this may be quite difficult because all the cases I’ve seen had this problem of the previous soul getting stuck and causing discomfort).

If you are afraid, that is your ego talking.  The ego is the part of our thinking mind who makes judgments based on existing knowledge and experiences.  So of course, the ego is afraid of everything new.  The ego wants to hold onto everything it has now.  But you are not your ego.

I must say it feels really good out here.  It’s like all (or at least most) of the clouds are magically gone.  Love and freedom have new meanings for me.  So come join me ^_^

So it sounds like it’s the spiritual equivalent of psychology’s self actualization. Fascinating. It’s not that you stop growing, though, right? You just do it in different ways?

If I say so myself, I am plowing through my life lessons fast and furiously, but I am not seeing a ceiling in terms of expanding myself and my capacity. I am seeing an end in terms of healing, though — being complete. It means, I’m no longer missing anything.

Not there yet, but getting ever so close.

Thank you, Akemi. For this article and the previous.

Being stuck is so darned frustrating! “Stuck” isn’t quite the right term for where I am; maybe more like moving forward only to be yanked back….over and over and over again. Just this morning when the alarm went off, my first thought was to meditate under the stars for awhile. So off I go…

First, though, I wanted to point out that I’ve realized there are some things I do which are like triggers, things that jerk that rope yanking me backward: caffeine, sugar… It seems when I have these is when the old me reappears. Do you find this to be true for others?

    Thank you, again, Akemi.

    hello Akemi,
i am really cherished by hearing attainment. It is equivalent to Satori in Zen, isnot it?
However, I am in state of trying hard and fighting with negative energy.
I recall one quote ” Experience the Oneness and live with this”
    Celebrate!

I’m not sure I’d like to be in the position you’re in, but I don’t have to worry about that. I don’t even know what my life lessons are supposed to be, let alone finishing them.

One of the things that has always bothered me is that we land here with no instructions, and somehow we’re supposed to figure out why we’re here and what to do. For most people, including me, that isn’t easy.

Enjoy your new situation. It sounds like you’re a new-born baby, in a way. :-)

  5. akemi on February 3rd, 2009 12:53 pm

    Ari,
I’m not very familiar with psychology, but I guess it’s the ultimate self actualization. And yes, we keep evolving — just very differently. Again, from the point, we are sailing . . . into the wide uncharted sea!

    Julie,
It’s hard to tell the real true issue from the description of symptoms. Doctors don’t do that — it would be irresponsible and unprofessional if doctors gave diagnosis based on patient’s description of the symptoms alone. You may be having ongoing soul shifting back and forth, which is an extremely disturbing situation. Or you could be having some kind of negative program running in you that is triggered by some stimulation.

    TJW,
There are two meanings to the word “trying”
    1) You bought a pair of trekking shoes, thought about going hiking, and call it “trying” to hike
    2) You are actually hiking, and you are at the tough spot where the going is very challenging. For this, I really want a better word than “trying”. Like “working on”.
You sound like you are in 2). That is okay. Take your time and move forward, even if it seems slow.

    Dot,
I read your comment on the various books. Thank you. I might check them — when I feel like reading. As I wrote in this post, I’m not big on learning any longer, though…
Even though we don’t come with written instruction of life, we can find them within us.

    Aloha, Akemi,
I’ve just gotten around to leaving beautiful messages on my water bottles. Since I find myself drinking more and more water it seems the perfect time to give my water words to love: JOY, ALOHA and HARMONY. It’s something that delights me and now with my precious new soul there is plenty of room of DELIGHT. Thank you for this post, I love the reassurance and the company.

    Hi Akemi,

Does “no more lessons in the school of life” mean that you won’t have any more problems in this lifetime? Does it mean that you don’t have to reincarnate? What will you do now?

    Dot

  8. akemi on February 8th, 2009 4:32 pm

    Mokihana,
    You are so welcome.

    Dot,
No, I suspect we will still have plenty of challenges in our lives. Plus, this post is not about quitting learning — it is about realizing when graduate that process. We can still learn for the fun of it. Or do something else.

I have no idea what this means in regard to reincarnation. Honestly, I don’t even know what this may mean for the rest of my life.

    akemi,

    wonderful website!

i’m wondering whether what you’re calling “getting a new soul” is the same as the falling away of the ego (as per Tolle) or Self-Realization/Enlightenment? of course it doesn’t matter what one calls it, the experience is the experience. but i’m just wondering if you are making a distinction between Self-realization and soul-shifting, or if it’s just different syntax for the same thing?

  10. akemi on February 11th, 2009 8:24 am

    Lifeplay,

    Welcome to Yes to Me!
Well, I work reading people’s soul records (called Akashic Records) and clearing the energetic issues, so when I say “soul shift”, I mean it. I can tell you exactly how many souls have been involved and the characteristics of each soul.
Falling away of the ego is, I think, an ongoing process. Enlightenment — I doubt if people really know what they are talking about. It seems to have changed its meaning a lot recently.

Hi Akemi~ Just came across your blog and really enjoying your articles. After reading I think I may have experienced a soul shift in December. I was out of pocket for about a week from a stomach clearing and have been a different person since… specifically feeling as though I have no more ‘lessons’. Although I am wondering how ‘personality’ fits into this. I have read that with walk-ins there is a slight change in personality. What about with soul shifting? I still feel the same in regards to that. Also, with regards to someone’s comment/question above, I would think ‘lessons’ would refer to ‘karmic’ lessons from the past, whereas ‘challenges’ would be new stuff that can arise. ?

  14. akemi on March 13th, 2009 1:29 pm

    Tisha,
I can’t tell if you had a soul shift or not until I read your Akashic Records. Walk-ins are a type of soul shifts.
I use the word karma in a very specific way. Life lessons are something we as souls choose prior to incarnation and it may or may not be related to what some people call “karmic debts”.
BTW even after completing the life lessons, we can still have fun learning whatever we like ^_^ It’s a choice.

    Akemi,

Thanks for giving me an explanation where one has been lacking.

Around a year and a half ago, everything changed. I don’t mean the way it changes after being rewired; everything changed as though everything in the past had been redeemed and there was nothing left to fix or heal. At least not in the same way fixing or healing had meant the first 47 years of my life.

People around me who were frustrated in their life would throw up their hands and ask, “This stuff never ends, does it?” And I’d say, “Yes, actually. Once it’s redeemed it is finished.” That was the only way I had of wording what had happened.

And it has been permanent. Things never regressed to their previous state. At least from my vantage point. It was as though I was living the same life but the baggage was gone. I still had the same “situations” in my life but none of them carried the same significance. My identity was no longer attached to any them. I’m still a mother of grown children though my love seems unencumbered now by expectations, frustrations or disappointments. It’s become easy to completely love others the way they are right now. I love the image of my boat being lifted off the beach and out to sea. It feels beautiful and true.

That’s not to say I don’t have problems or lessons these days. It just doesn’t seem like they chose me, or that I’m still working on anything.

I feel very blessed to have stumbled upon this discussion. The things you and the other folks wrote have made very good company for me tonight.

    Warmest regards,
    Dreidl

  23. Hadar on December 17th, 2009 5:24 pm

    Hi,

It’s not always easy to accept the idea that one’s life lessons have been learned. “I’m not perfect!” one might object. “How can I have completed my lessons?”

Well it’s helpful to know that there is such a thing as Grace and it operates in the life lessons arena. The way I see it is you don’t have to fully examine every grain of sand in the sandbox to get a good idea of what sand is and what it does and what you can use it for. Just studying a grain of sand for a while, then studying another grain or two for a while should do the trick. Grace allows that you don’t have to examine the properties of every grain of sand in your environment to have completed your lesson regarding sand. (And who ever said the goal of learning is to be perfect?)

Plus you can always stick around the sandbox till kingdom come – and beyond – if you want to.

But if learning more about sand is your thing, you’ll have to get out of the sandbox and go to a different environment where sand is. Maybe go to a beach. Conditions there provide new aspects regarding sand, new stuff to learn that you could not have learned where you were. You have learned all there is to learn about sandbox sand so by Grace, you may move on if you want to. : )

  24. akemi on December 17th, 2009 8:12 pm

    Kim,

Yes! When we ask for divine guidance, it will be answered. That is so cool how you found me.

    Hadar,

Very interesting way to say it! I so agree. The way I put it is, just because you graduate from school doesn’t mean you stop learning. I can truthfully say I have learned huge after I graduated from college, but in a different way. So even when the rigid curriculum of learning is done, there is more to life! But we learn differently, with more initiative while we also make some contributions.

    Great discussion!

i have never gotten the concept of poeple learn from their mistakes as if all people do is make mistake after mistake, not everything is a mistake and poeple dont mess up all the time 24.7 and this idea of lessons, hmm thats not me never has never will be
life is a metaphor and sure as heck is not teaching me anything, to me no such things as lifes lessons, i do care but i dont like bs made up stuff that sounds like borderline if not copout!!! to me no such thing as life lessons as i will continue to learn nothing from life as there is nothing to learn!!!!!

Please let the world know what you think!
