Jen,

" I woke up vegetarian and have physically not been able to eat any flesh since, so that one was easy for me. However, I have tried 100% raw and that didn’t work for me..." I think this is happening to many of us. It's not about moral judgment -- our bodies are changing.

And you are spot on about the judgmental attitude in healthy eating and spirituality. Your increasing awareness (about your sugar intake, etc) is really good.

Btw I think you will soon feel sick about the "wilted lettuce"... There will be no room for fundamentalists of any kind in the New World.

I have also recently felt torn as to how I feel about all of the different eating crazes. I woke up vegetarian and have physically not been able to eat any flesh since, so that one was easy for me. However, I have tried 100% raw and that didn't work for me. I have considered 100% vegan but I can't bring myself to give up eggs and dairy (organic). I've tried giving up all refined sugar and white flour but that has been difficult as well.

What I have realized is that although I have not walked away from each of these concepts as 100% believer, I have not walked away empty handed. Each time I learned something that did work for me on some level and have applied that to my life. Maybe I learned to be more aware of my sugar intake, or to make a greater effort to get good raw fruits and veggies in my system. Step by step I think that I am getting closer to figuring out what works best for me.

Is that where we go wrong? Is there a thought that if I am 100% raw and it works for me then that must be right and everybody else is wrong? Can't we just want for people to find what works best for them and accept that it won't always look the same? This reminds me of where (in my opinion) religions can go wrong. Somebody says, I am Christian and everybody needs to be Christian because everything else is bad and wrong!! When every other religious belief is not bad and wrong.

Aside of breathing air, I have not found many aspects of this life experience that are detrimental for every human being to ascribe to. For those who live on the extreme ends, good for them but is there not room for moderation?

(On a side note: I now consider myself a "salad bar spiritualist". I grew up Christian so that is kind of like my lettuce (I pull out some of the wilted pieces that I do not agree with) and now I sprinkle in a little of this and that from many faiths and beliefs. Thus creating a plate of spiritualism that is perfectly fulfilling for me:-)

Thanks for another great post!!

Hi Rosie,

Well, I didn't know the group Gackt -- I was just checking YouTube to see if there are videos that shows shanshin and it sound. After the short traditional song of the area, the second song (that comes with Japanese subtitle) is a song of the bygone love. His lover left the island and he is singing, basically, asking the wind to carry his song to her.

The second video clip is by Rinken Band.
