Online Gratitude Journal My Birthday Month Edition #29

Spring lasts long in Oregon. Cherry blossoms come around in mid March, followed by so many kinds of flowers and blossoms, like magnolias, azaleas, rhododendrons, pears, roses, and what not. But the temperature stays rather low until May — when it’s suddenly summer, like this weekend. Gee, I remember I was wearing my cord jacket last week!
I am writing this at a Starbucks on Saturday afternoon, escaping the heat of my apartment. It’s 6:30, so we still have three hours before the sun sets. I’m so grateful for my new macbook — this is exactly what I wanted to do with a laptop.
Oh, about the title — my birthday was yesterday. It also marks my anniversary of coming to the US. I came here two days before my b-day in 1995. I still passionately love this country ^_^
Starting with this edition of my Gratitude Journal, I am adopting the format of Mon at Holistic Mama.
May in Review
May, my birthday month, was — just like any other month. I worked hard for my Akashic Record Reading service while enjoying a daily coffee time.
I completed writing the Creating The New World series. My intention was to write something comprehensive about each energy flow of Love, Light, Truth, Abundance, and Power, so it took a lot of work. I enjoyed writing it, but it was exhausting nonetheless. I’m relieved I’m done with it — maybe I’ll write something more fun next month, like love and sex.
Fun
Hmm, what did I do for fun this month? Oh, I went out with a cute guy. Oh, this reminds me — some readers may be wondering about my personal lifestyle after reading me mention about polyamory here and there recently, but at least so far, I’ve only dated guys and one guy at a time. The future is in the making, however
Challenges
The housing dilemma. Around here, houses are so expensive, and from my experience of living in a 3 BR 2BA house in Tennessee, I know I don’t enjoy living in a big house by myself . . . it’s too much work! But living in an apartment without air conditioner is not very comfortable, either. (And none of the apartments in this area has air conditioners.) I guess I can buy a townhouse or condo . . .
Thoughtful
I think I’ve exhausted all my thoughtfulness in writing the New World series. I need some time to recharge. . .
Insights
I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing now because I am the creator.
Where in the blogosphere Akemi has been
I’ve known James Chartland at Men With Pens for a long time (by blog years). He has lots of wisdom about better writing and blogging. But the real reason I hang out there is I like his personality and I find it fun to read the comments people make about him. Just check this out. The post is about posting frequency, which I’m not particularly interested because I think it’s a matter of case by case, largely dependent on the blogger’ disposition and situation. But do read the comments about the photo of the post. I promise it’s entertaining. Thank you for the fun, James and Kelly. (Maybe you can make money compiling the comments or writing humor stories. . .)
Evita at Evolving Wellness has a solid background in science and I especially love her posts on healthy eating. Like this one that demystifies the “healthy” dinner of salmon, whole wheat bread, red wine, dairy, and dark chocolate. Thank you, Evita.
Word of month
Let me check the comments I received this month for this. For my post on romantic relationship, Lisa at mommymystic quoted Eckhart Tolle,
“Two conscious beings realize that the essence of the relationship is the space in it.”
Great quote, thank you, Lisa.
Note to myself
Priority: Light Ascension.

Finally here is the bouquet I bought at a farmers’ market the other day.
Enjoy the summer, my friends! (Photo by Mr. Greenjeans)

Hello Akemi and happy belated birthday!!!!
What a wonderful month you have had!!! I love these types of recaps. I think they are great for grounding us and making us focus on what transpired and what we have learned.
Congrats too on the MacBook. My husband has one and loves it to pieces and really wants me to get one too, we’ll see. Perhaps in the near future.
And thank you for the personal mention in this article – I am both honored and humbled!!!
So here is to another wonderful month gone by and many more wonderful creations for the new month ahead
Happy Birthday, Akemi! (Both kinds of birthday.) You sound like you’re having fun. Has your appreciation for the mac grown? I know you were having a hard time with the adjustment, but hopefully it becomes easier over time.
Akemi – Happy Belated Birthday! So Gemini, right? Big month for you, especially with your series.

Hi there Akemi – congrats on the birthday and the anniversary of moving – it must be a HUGE thing to move to a new country – I can’t imagine it. Seems you are enjoying the Macbook a bit more now! I love the flowers – that’s the kind of bunch I like. Lucky you having warm weather – winter has well and truly hit here. – R

Hi Evita,
I’m a new mac- and laptop- convert. I just bought it a few months ago. I’m still not sure if I love it, but if you have in-house trainer, that would be a different story
Hunter,
I’m still learning about mac. (What do you use? You bought a new laptop recently, too, right?) It has its own way.
For instance, iPhoto. According to the intro video, it has great features like face recognition and direct posting to FB or Flickr, but it wants to save the photos in its own way, where WP cannot find it. After 1 hour of trying, I ended up emailing the photo of those flowers to myself, so that I can then save it to my photo file.
A big issue I haven’t resolved is the Safari’s RSS. When I click on the subscribe to RSS at new blogs, it doesn’t take me to the Google Reader like I expect it to. It opens its own RSS, but that is so different I haven’t figured out how to use it. I gave up subscribing to new blogs.
Lisa,
Yes, I’m a Gemini. Talk, talk, talk, even in my second language.
Robin,
Macbook is still a fussy baby for me.
The farmers market has great flowers. The red ones that looks like red artichoke are actually tulips. And that whole things was only $12:)
I thought about getting a mac for my new laptop because I’ve heard bad things about Vista. Still, I was hesitant about learning the mac from scratch. When I saw the price tag, that settled it. I got a PC.
Sorry you’re having trouble with it. Maybe you can add a mac advisor to your inner circle.
Hunter,
Yeah, this macbook is far more than what I really need. I just wanted to see what it’s like. Mac is very popular in this area. With Microsoft HQ in Seattle, you would think PC is big around here, but no. There are so many mac stores. I heard even the MS HQ actually use macs.
[...] promised in last month’s Gratitude Journal, I wrote about love and sex — and was discouraged with the low level of comments. Okay . . . [...]
